About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join our Design Build team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting with the assembly of designs, estimates, and ultimate construction of food manufacturing facilities and stand-alone industrial refrigeration projects across the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our nationally recognized Design Build team to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Ensure appropriate construction materials are incorporated into designs and conduct thorough reviews of subcontractor/vendor shop drawings to ensure design intent is met.
  • Complete conceptual and detailed take-offs of architectural, civil, and structural elements of buildings to be incorporated into the overall project budget or Guaranteed Maximum Price.
  • Assist management with the identification, prequalification, and bidding of architectural, civil, and structural scopes of work.
  • Coordinate technical details with other members of the D/B team.
  • Assist project management staff in obtaining local planning and/or building regulations approval.
  • Monitor and inspect work undertaken by subcontractors and/or our own trades, specifically regarding architectural elements of construction.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of work experience or equivalent internships.
  • Experience in the design and construction of food manufacturing and cold box (refrigerated) buildings is preferred but not essential.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Ability to assemble bid set (RFP) drawing packages.
  • Ability to liaise with professionals from other disciplines.
  • Experience with subcontractor management (or a quick learn).
  • Experience in project management (or a quick learn).
  • Good communications skills and ability to communicate with customers on remote sites (travel required).
  • Possess working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience utilizing Autodesk applications (AutoCad, Revit, Navisworks) and Bluebeam are preferred.
  • Three-dimensional conceptual skills.
  • Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to perform construction job site visits.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Flexibility with schedule changes and open to travel.
