The Building Maintenance Technician II is a critical role within Volunteers of America, responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of our facilities. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facilities, equipment, and grounds, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and landscaping tasks.
- Identify and address safety-related issues that pose a hazard to clients, employees, facilities, or the public.
- Assist in monitoring apartment make-ready schedules and service requests to ensure timely completion.
- Conduct daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and bi-annual preventive maintenance to ensure facilities are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Attend meetings and staff development activities as assigned, demonstrating a teamwork-oriented approach.
- Maintain accurate work order procedures and related documentation according to Volunteers of America guidelines.
- Ensure facilities are maintained in a safe, clean, and orderly manner that complies with agency standards.
- Act as a mentor to Maintenance Technician I and provide guidance and support as needed.
- Inventory building supplies and maintain a well-stocked inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of previous maintenance technician experience.
- Knowledge of all hand and power tools and their uses.
- Valid Colorado Driver's License, insurance verification, and good driving record.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and maintain good relations with residents and employees.
- At least 3 years of direct experience in building maintenance or trade school certificate.
- CFC certifications desired.
- CAMT certification desired.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Some work-related travel may be required.
- Must be capable of using an extension ladder to make repairs as needed.
- Must be able to perform emergency maintenance.
- Must be able to bend, climb, stoop, kneel, reach, crouch, squat, lift, balance, stand, sit, and use hands and feet.
- Must have good depth perception, hearing, and speaking skills.
