Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Plant Manager to join our team at the Platte River Biogas facility in LaSalle, Colorado. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our biogas production facility, maintaining high safety standards, and driving process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations to ensure production and safety goals are met.
  • Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and implement improvements as needed.
  • Participate in hiring, training, and developing direct reports.
  • Supervise direct reports to ensure effective task completion.
  • Monitor lab analyses to maintain digester health and adjust operations accordingly.
  • Record site activities, shutdowns, and problem areas.
  • Assign tasks to plant operators, including quality checks and troubleshooting.
  • Provide training and guidance to plant personnel.
  • Schedule shifts, assign tasks, and manage workloads.
  • Promote a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and emergency drills.
  • Address safety incidents and ensure proper reporting and resolution.
  • Ensure plant compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager to ensure equipment efficiency and maintenance.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Prepare reports on plant performance for management and stakeholders.
  • Support data collection efforts and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings.
  • Work with the engineering team to evaluate and implement new technologies or upgrades.
  • Assist in budget preparation and expense monitoring.
  • Support resource allocation and cost-effective operations.
  • Act as a point of contact for external stakeholders.
  • Maintain open communication with the leadership team.
  • Ensure farm and community relations are maintained positively.
  • Ensure plant adherence to environmental permits and regulations.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting reports to regulatory agencies.
  • Support compliance with renewable energy credits and incentives.
  • Support emergency preparedness and response efforts.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or Associate degree, Vocational-Technical Diploma, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in a biogas production environment or natural gas industry.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple activities.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong analytical, numerical, and reasoning abilities.
  • Proven ability to take tasks and projects from start to completion.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to get along with diverse personalities.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to balance business considerations.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Physical demands include job site mobility and occasional lifting or moving items over 25 pounds.
  • Must be local to LaSalle, CO, and willing to work onsite.
