As a key member of the Executive Committee, the Director of Sales and Marketing plays a crucial role, engaging with both Resort Ownership and Corporate leadership. This position reports directly to the General Manager.

The Director is responsible for leading the Sales, Marketing, Public Relations, and Events teams, overseeing the revenue budget and expense management for these areas. This role involves contributions to revenue forecasting, marketing strategies, public relations initiatives, and business plan development, alongside active engagement with ownership. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership capabilities, attention to detail, and prior experience in luxury hospitality. The salary for this position ranges from $145,000 to $155,000, depending on experience.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and execute the annual marketing strategy for the hotel, addressing challenges throughout the booking cycle with targeted tactics.

2. Create marketing materials for group and event offerings, ensuring effective implementation and oversight.

3. Provide leadership to the marketing, communications, and agency partners.

4. Formulate strategies to achieve budgeted revenue across various market segments, including Group and Consortia room revenue and Event (F&B) revenue.

5. Attract and retain new clientele while expanding the customer base through proactive marketing and relationship-building with community and business partners.

6. Participate in significant travel, trade, and corporate events, conducting sales trips aligned with business priorities.

7. Collaborate with the operations team to understand guest needs and foster interdepartmental relationships.

8. Oversee all aspects of Catering and Convention Services, including menu creation and pricing, while implementing sustainable practices in meetings and events.

9. Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks related to sales and events.

10. Recruit, onboard, and train team members in Sales and Events as necessary.

11. Safeguard the hotel's legal and financial interests through effective contract and risk management.

12. Mentor team members to uphold luxury standards reflective of Hyatt's service ethos.


Performance Metrics:

- Achievement of top-line revenue goals in line with the annual budget.

- Profitability performance measured against the annual budget.

- Fulfillment of Resort Level objectives set each year.


Qualifications:

- Previous sales experience in the hotel, airline, or travel-related sectors is preferred.

- Experience in seasonal resorts, leisure transient, and group incentive markets is highly desirable.

- Strong interpersonal, communication, presentation, and time management skills.

- Proven track record in sales with the ability to lead and achieve revenue targets.

- Ability to leverage analytical data to formulate effective sales strategies.

- Strategic mindset with problem-solving capabilities under pressure.

- Demonstrated agile leadership style.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and TravelClick reporting tools.
