Job Summary

The Automation Engineer III is a critical role within our organization, responsible for providing production support for multiple products and production lines. This position requires a strong understanding of lean manufacturing practices and the ability to create work instructions that maximize efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Support: Provide timely and effective support to production teams to ensure smooth operation of manufacturing processes.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Script Development: Create complex scripts to test, update, and image hardware systems in a production capacity.
  • Research and Development: Research, design, test, and evaluate current scripts for future compatibility with new end-user device equipment and adapt to customers' needs/requirements.
  • Configuration and Troubleshooting: Configure network, software, and hardware components to meet internal and client requirements, and troubleshoot test automation failures with internal engineering and customers as needed.
  • Quality Assurance: Design software products from unit to system testing, researching requirements, designing test plans, developing automated testing frameworks, and enhancing automated scripts to provide quality fielded products for the customer.
  • Team Collaboration: Interact regularly with internal clients (Engineering/Sales Ops/Management) to determine their requirements and develop delivery plans and schedules.
  • Hardware Expertise: Experience with white box systems and Tier 1 suppliers, including Supermicro, Dell, Lenovo, and HPE platforms, and ability to troubleshoot their hardware problems.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Solid interpersonal and communication skills, with both phone and email, for client hardware support.
  • Quality and Safety: Commitment to driving the highest quality within our daily activities and in our output to our customers, and adherence to safety standards and requirements.
  • Security and Compliance: Comply with all guidelines and procedures pertaining to the protection of the Company's Information Assets, Security, and Systems, and that of our Clients.
Requirements
  • Qualifications - Level Specific: More than 4 years' experience creating complex shell scripts and automation within a Linux and MS Windows environment.
  • Expertise: Expert-level experience with Python, Shell, and PowerShell scripts.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to work independently and lead a collaborative team.
  • Process Design and Change Management: Supporting the internal process design and change management for the CCI processes for design, develop, implement, testing, and maintaining complex code bases.
  • Test Development and Automation: Experience designing, performing, and automating integration, component, system, and unit-level tests, as well as analyzing/evaluating results.
  • Test Reporting and Configuration: Supporting designing and automating test reports and configuration documentation according to customer standards.
Qualifications - General
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent education and experience.
  • Operating System Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Hardware Problem-Solving: Strong hardware problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • ERP and PLM Systems: Knowledge of working with ERP and PLM systems.
  • PC/Server Architecture and Networking: Solid knowledge of PC/server architecture and networking.
  • Teamwork and Problem-Solving: Ability to work well in a high-paced, team-driven environment, and ability to work independently and be a problem solver.
  • Attention to Detail: Detailed-oriented.
  • Corporate Policies: Ability to implement corporate policies when selecting methods, techniques, and processes to implement our production processes.
  • Flexibility: Ability to work as business needs require, which may include extended days, weekends, and occasional travel for business meetings or training.
Physical Requirements
  • Physical Activity: Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to manipulate objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms while taking and hearing.
  • Lifting and Moving: Frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with assistance of others.
  • Vision Requirements: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
