About this role
We are seeking a full-time Fund Accountant that is looking for an opportunity to grow and be mentored in the exciting venture capital space. As a Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for providing general accounting functions from data entry through general ledger close and reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily accounting of assigned series funds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform month-end reconciliations and bank account closings as needed, maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Prepare and analyze financial reports to support critical decision-making purposes, utilizing your analytical skills to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with outside tax consultants on annual K-1 tax activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance daily activity execution and financial performance.
- Assist in generating routine and ad-hoc financial statements for management review, providing clear and concise analysis.
- Respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner, resolving accounting variances and providing accurate information.
- Interface with investor relations, investment team, legal, corporate accounting, and executive management on fund-related topics, maintaining effective communication and relationships.
- Gather relevant investment documentation, developing a working knowledge of investment capital structures to assist in recording portfolio company valuation updates.
- Work collaboratively with the Fund Accounting team on time-sensitive projects and initiatives to support the company's goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Management.
- One to three years of accounting experience, with intermediate accounting skills and strong analytical abilities.
- Excellent computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to work in a team environment and willingness to train in all areas of accounting.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with internal staff and external entities and service providers.
Compensation
The salary for this position is $80,000-$90,000, plus equity and bonus opportunities.
