Program Overview:

The Resource and Recovery Center (RRC) is a pioneering initiative that offers accessible services and support for the most at-risk individuals in our community. The RRC emphasizes multiple wellness pathways grounded in compassion, equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness. It provides a secure, non-judgmental environment aimed at fostering trust, meaningful connections, and collaboration.

Services provided by the RRC may encompass: Basic needs access; Community outreach; Screening and navigational assistance to connect participants with physical, behavioral, and social service resources; Skills coaching, mindfulness practices, and stress management; Employment assistance, job training access, and educational opportunities; Activities and groups focused on recovery, resilience building, and various forms of recovery capital.

Position Overview

The Peer Recovery Coach (PRC) plays a crucial role in cultivating, nurturing, and developing relationships with clients within the recovery community. As a PRC, you will support a recovery-oriented approach, recognizing that each individual's journey to successful recovery is unique and comes with its own set of challenges. PRCs respectfully advocate for recovery guidance, support, and empowerment throughout a client's recovery process.

Work Schedule:

  • Two Part-Time Positions available = 32 hours per week.
  • Two Relief Positions available = 24 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Adhering to all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Maintaining accurate client logs, records, and reports in designated files and digital systems.
  • Meeting all Peer Recovery Coach program requirements.
  • Promoting individual self-advocacy, ensuring clients' voices and needs are prioritized.
  • Assisting clients in creating a personalized recovery pathway and identifying achievable goals, strengths, and areas for improvement.
  • Supporting clients in transitioning from a professionally managed service plan to a self-directed recovery plan.
  • Continuously developing community recovery resources and identifying additional support services that enhance a continuum of care.
  • Exhibiting effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Listening attentively to clients' needs and facilitating their recovery, trust-building, engagement, treatment, and stabilization.
  • Submitting all necessary evaluations, records, reports, and statistical information promptly to the Director or Supervising authority.
  • Participating in all required meetings.
  • Being part of the on-call 24-7 Crisis Staff Duty Officer (CSDO) rotation.
  • Facilitating recovery support groups.
  • Reporting emergencies, incidents, or unusual circumstances to the Director and/or corporate staff as appropriate.
  • Contributing to the development and execution of a comprehensive street outreach program.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the Director.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Two letters of recommendation or professional references.
  • Experience in a full-time, part-time, or volunteer capacity within the last two years.
  • A minimum of two years in recovery is required.
  • Certification as a Peer Recovery Coach is necessary.
  • Willingness to undergo random toxicology screenings upon request.
  • Familiarity with personal computer (PC) operations, particularly Windows and Excel, is advantageous.
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Clear or acceptable criminal history; acceptable history of substance use disorders.
  • Completion of a company-directed Defensive Driving Course is required.
