The Health Specialist IV (Skilled Acquisition Plan Writer) is tasked with the thorough and holistic integration of the Individual Support Plan across all facets of each individual's life.

This role encompasses the amalgamation of Individual Support Plans, Behavior Support Plans, and PNMP plans (when relevant) in environments that mirror the natural rhythm of each person's daily life.

Key responsibilities include crafting structured training programs, organizing recreational and leisure activities, and facilitating community integration.

This position plays a pivotal leadership role in evaluating, developing, executing, and monitoring all active treatment initiatives in designated areas, ensuring that specialized and general active treatment activities align with individual preferences and the strengths and needs identified by the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT).

The SAP Writer offers quality leadership through hands-on mentoring, coaching, and training to all staff, ensuring the effective implementation of individual programming and adherence to relevant standards on active treatment.

Additional responsibilities involve creating data systems to identify active treatment needs and trends, providing consultation and support to Individual Support Teams, participating in relevant Individual Support Plans and Unit meetings, coordinating active treatment during mealtimes, and leading or participating in special project teams and committees.

This role includes writing skill acquisition plans in the format of Applied Behavioral Analysis under the guidance of a consulting BCBA and the Director of Behavior Health Services.

Flexibility in scheduling and the potential for overtime are required to accommodate the evolving needs of the department.

Essential Job Functions:

Regular attendance is expected, with the possibility of adhering to a specific shift schedule or, at times, a rotating schedule, extended shifts, and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policies, along with performing other assigned duties.


1. Identify, develop, and implement ABA skill acquisition training objectives.
2.

Provide hands-on coaching, teaching, and mentoring to all staff in assigned areas on integrating active treatment programs and fostering effective positive interactions.

3. Organize community integration components to ensure every individual engages in non-routine community activities and community skill acquisition planning.
4. Participate in Individual Support Plans, Preps, home meetings, and other IDT meetings as applicable.
5. Develop and implement data systems to identify active treatment needs and trends within the facility, synthesizing data into reports for distribution to relevant departments.
6. Plan, schedule, and deliver services to homes for evening, weekend, holiday, and mealtime active treatment.
7. Supervise assigned staff in accordance with facility procedures to ensure effective service delivery.
8. Participate in special project teams and committees.
9. Complete and/or evaluate assessments on individuals, including Functional Skills Assessments and assessments across all disciplines.

Other duties may include actively participating in or supporting the agency's obligations for disaster response and/or recovery or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activation, which may necessitate alternate shift patterns and/or locations.

+ Familiarity with Sex Offender Treatment Programs.
+ Competence in performing therapeutic interventions with individuals with dual diagnoses.
+ Proficient in utilizing relevant computer programs and email.
+ Commitment to regular and punctual attendance.
+ Understanding and adherence to all policies and procedures relevant to job responsibilities.
+ Knowledge of and compliance with confidentiality policies and procedures.
+ Ability to perform CPR, First Aid, and SUR.
+ Familiarity with facility shelter-in-place and hurricane evacuation protocols.
+ Flexibility in work hours is essential for this position, which may require overtime and/or extended hours and on-call responsibilities.
