Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Lexima is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining all hotel assets to an acceptable quality standard.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, including Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and Fire Safety.
  • Develop and implement action plans and recommendations based on technical visits and audits.
  • Operate and maintain hotel mechanical systems, including domestic water, hot water, chilled water, and pool systems.
  • Maintain and organize parts inventory, including receiving, labeling, and logging parts and fixtures.
  • Assist with building maintenance and complete work orders, such as replacing ceiling tiles, light bulbs, and patching vinyl.
  • Maintain a safe work and storage area, including cleaning and organizing designated storage areas.
  • Comply with hotel and brand purchasing procedures using nominated suppliers.
  • Assist other engineers with repairs and complete daily paperwork.
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years of maintenance or engineering experience, preferably in a hotel establishment.
  • Previous experience as a hotel engineer or comparable maintenance experience in a similar setting.
  • Basic skills in reading prints, schematics, and equipment operations instructions.
  • Experience in maintenance or building trades preferred.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn and use technology.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to handle stressful situations and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and proper insurance coverage for business-related travel.
  • Fluency in English.
Physical Requirements:
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to operate various types of maintenance equipment.
