Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead HVAC Technician to join our team at Zephyr. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing heating and cooling systems, providing exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth through informed and confident buying decisions.
Key Responsibilities- Complete HVAC Service Calls: Conduct thorough in-home service calls to diagnose and repair heating and cooling systems.
- Establish Customer Rapport: Build strong relationships with customers to sell the right products and services, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Troubleshoot System Malfunctions: Ask lifestyle questions to identify heating and cooling system issues and provide effective solutions.
- Finance and Maintenance Options: Educate customers on finance options and maintenance plans to ensure they make informed decisions.
- Replacement Opportunities: Explain replacement opportunities for aging, inefficient, or underperforming systems.
- Revenue Goals: Understand service criteria and hold yourself accountable for exceeding revenue goals.
- Professionalism and Knowledge: Demonstrate professionalism and knowledge to win new referrals and repeat business.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with customer service and dispatch teams to ensure overall business success.
- Job Site Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized job site and well-inventoried truck.
- Training and Mentorship: Participate in training exercises, morning meetings, trade shows, and retreats, and train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations.
- Administrative Tasks: Accurately complete invoices, time cards, curbside feedback, and option sheets in a timely manner.
- Licensed and Knowledgeable: Possess a valid license and knowledge of local HVAC codes, with the ability to apply them on the job.
- Proven Track Record: Demonstrate a proven track record in heating and cooling systems, including the ability to draw simple diagrams, read blueprints, and other diagrams.
- Continued Education: Commit to continued education and training to obtain NATE certification.
- Clean Driving Record: Maintain a clean, safe driving record.
- Organizational Skills: Possess highly organized skills with exceptional follow-through abilities.
- Strong Communication: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
- High Integrity: Possess high integrity with advanced social skills and the ability to make solid connections.

- Installation and Service Experience: Proven ability to install, replace, and serve HVAC systems in new residential and commercial properties.

- Safety First: Consider safety as your primary job and have general knowledge of safe working practices and OSHA requirements.
- Physical Demands: Regularly and routinely required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, use hands to handle controls, hear, and talk.
- Environmental Factors: Must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces.
- Lifting and Moving: The ability to regularly lift and/or move 50+ lbs is required.
- Work Environment: The work environment can vary depending on the season and scope of work – employees are required to work outdoors throughout the seasons.
- Work Schedule: This role is expected to work Monday through Friday from 7:30am-5pm, with occasional on-call weeks.
The pay for this position is $35-$45/hour or more, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location, plus performance-based incentives. Other incentive pay may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
