About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Lead HVAC Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing heating and cooling systems, providing exceptional customer service, and making informed recommendations to customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete all general HVAC in-home service calls, ensuring timely and efficient resolutions.
  • Establish strong customer relationships to sell the right products and services, meeting customer needs and expectations.
  • Conduct thorough troubleshooting to identify heating and cooling system malfunctions, using your expertise to provide accurate diagnoses and recommendations.
  • Educate and assist customers in selecting the best finance options and maintenance plans, ensuring they are well-informed and confident in their decisions.
  • Explain replacement opportunities for aging, inefficient, or underperforming systems, highlighting the benefits of upgrading to newer, more efficient models.
  • Meet or exceed revenue goals, understanding your service criteria and holding yourself accountable for delivering exceptional results.
  • Present yourself as a professional and knowledgeable expert, winning new referrals and repeat business through your exceptional service and expertise.
  • Collaborate with customer service and dispatch teams to ensure overall business success.
  • Maintain a clean, organized job site and well-inventoried truck, adhering to high standards of professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Participate actively in all training exercises, morning meetings, trade shows, and retreats, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Train and mentor apprentices to ensure quick, accurate repairs and installations, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and growth.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness with invoices, time cards, curbside feedback, and option sheets, maintaining high standards of professionalism and attention to detail.
Requirements:
  • Licensed with knowledge of local HVAC codes and the ability to apply them on the job.
  • Proven track record in heating and cooling systems, including the ability to draw simple diagrams, read blueprints, and other diagrams.
  • Continued education and training to obtain NATE certification, staying up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
  • Highly organized with exceptional follow-through abilities, ensuring timely and efficient resolutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, able to effectively communicate with customers and colleagues.
  • High integrity with advanced social skills and the ability to build strong connections with customers and colleagues.
  • Strong desire to continuously improve and grow as a technician, seeking opportunities for development and advancement.
  • Demonstrable analytical skills and attention to detail, able to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and manuals.
  • Proven ability to install, replace, and service HVAC systems in new residential and commercial properties.
  • Competitive individual contributor who also thrives in a team environment, seeking opportunities for collaboration and growth.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
  • Must prioritize safety as the primary job responsibility and have general knowledge of safe working practices and OSHA requirements.
  • Regularly and routinely required to sit, stand, walk, stoop, use hands to handle controls, hear, and talk.
  • Must be able to climb ladders, work in hot and cold environments, and work in small crawl spaces.
  • The ability to regularly lift and/or move 50+ lbs is required.
  • The work environment can vary depending on the season and scope of work – employees are required to work outdoors throughout the seasons.
  • This role is expected to work Monday through Friday from 7:30am-5pm, with occasional on-call weeks.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • Competitive pay: $35-$45/hour or more, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location, plus performance-based incentives.
