Job Summary

Prairie Ridge Health is seeking a skilled Station Chef to join our Culinary Department. This 0.9 FTE role involves preparing food for patients, catering, and the cafeteria menu. The successful candidate will be responsible for pre-dishing patient food items, assembling patient trays, and maintaining high standards of sanitation and food safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook food for patients, catering, and the cafeteria menu
  • Pre-dish patient food items and assemble patient trays
  • Maintain high standards of sanitation and food safety
  • Oversee the food service/culinary department in the absence of the Manager of Food, Nutrition and Diabetes Services and/or Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and/or Assistant Sous Chef
  • Train new team members and ensure they meet expectations
  • Staff all kitchen positions, including Cold Cook, Breakfast Cook, Front of House, and Ware Washer, on a scheduled and short notice basis
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent desirable
  • ServSafe Food Manager certification required within 4 months of start date or within 3 attempts to pass the exam, whichever comes first
  • Preferred knowledge of therapeutic diets
  • Previous institutional cooking or food service experience desirable
Work Schedule

9:30AM-6PM, 10:30AM-7PM. Every third weekend and 2 holidays per year.
