Genomics Product Scientist

Position OverviewThe R&D division at Centrillion is a diverse collective of biologists, engineers, chemists, and computational biologists engaged in the creation of novel genomic technologies, applications, and products aimed at propelling research and healthcare forward. We are seeking a Scientist to become a vital part of our expanding Product Science Group. The successful candidate will play a key role in the conceptualization and development of genomic tools, with a primary focus on practical laboratory work and data interpretation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct experimental work independently or collaboratively to meet departmental objectives.
- Utilize data-driven approaches with robust data analysis capabilities.
- Establish and execute quality control protocols for essential reagents and processes.
- Prepare design documents, protocols, reports, SOPs, and other relevant product documentation as necessary.
- Monitor project progress, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to critical decision-making through solid testing data and scientific insight.
- Effectively communicate findings to internal stakeholders and R&D leadership.
- Maintain a comprehensive laboratory notebook and compile research findings in reports and presentations for team discussions.
Educational Background:
- PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related discipline.
Professional Requirements:
- 2-3 years of postdoctoral experience; experience in the biotechnology sector is advantageous.
- Proficient in genomic assay technologies (e.g., nucleic acid purification, quantification, amplification, labeling, PCR, qPCR, microarrays) and well-versed in standard molecular biology, genomic, and biochemistry techniques.
- Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing and sample preparation processes.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Self-motivated individual who is innovative and eager to explore new methodologies.
- Able to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills; excellent time management capabilities.
