Centrillion is looking for a laboratory research assistant/associate to contribute to the Product Science division. This role is set in a vibrant, start-up atmosphere, collaborating with R&D scientists from diverse fields. The primary responsibilities involve practical laboratory tasks and data interpretation, supporting the advancement of novel genomic technologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct experiments utilizing molecular biology and nucleic acid methodologies, including RNA or DNA extraction, amplification, labeling, purification, quantification, PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR, array-hybridization, and Next Generation Sequencing.
- Generate, analyze, document, and communicate results, ensuring reproducible and high-quality data is produced in a timely manner.
- Maintain precise and comprehensive laboratory records.
- Regularly communicate findings and summarize progress with supervisors through verbal updates or written reports.
- Identify issues, propose solutions promptly, and seek assistance when necessary.
- Effectively manage the demands of tight deadlines while upholding data integrity.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related discipline.
Requirements:
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, with a preference for candidates with a background in the biotechnology sector.
- Proven expertise in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques.
- Familiarity with microarrays and Next Generation Sequencing is advantageous.
- Competence in standard software applications (e.g., Microsoft Office) is essential.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Experience in maintaining accurate and thorough laboratory documentation.
- A passion for engaging in a challenging research and development environment alongside a multidisciplinary team.
