Position OverviewThe Research and Development division at Centrillion is a diverse group comprising biologists, engineers, chemists, and computational biologists who are pioneering new genomic technologies, applications, and products aimed at advancing both research and healthcare. We are seeking a Scientist to become a vital part of our expanding Product Science Group. The successful candidate will engage in the conceptualization and development of genomic tools, with a primary focus on hands-on laboratory experimentation and data interpretation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct experimental work independently or collaboratively to support departmental objectives.
- Utilize strong data analysis skills to drive data-informed decisions.
- Establish and maintain quality control protocols for essential reagents and processes.
- Prepare design documents, protocols, reports, SOPs, and other product-related documentation as necessary.
- Monitor project progress, adapt to changing priorities, and contribute to key decision-making through robust testing data and scientific insight.
- Effectively communicate findings to internal stakeholders and R&D leadership.
- Maintain a comprehensive laboratory notebook and compile research findings into reports and presentations for team meetings.
Educational Background:
- PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, genetics, or a related discipline.
Professional Requirements:
- 2-3 years of postdoctoral experience; experience in the biotechnology sector is advantageous.
- Proficient in genomic assay technologies (e.g., nucleic acid purification, quantification, amplification, labeling, PCR, qPCR, microarrays) and well-versed in standard molecular biology, genomic, and biochemical techniques.
- Familiarity with Next Generation Sequencing and sample preparation processes.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Self-motivated individual with a penchant for innovation and exploration of new methodologies.
- Able to excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, complemented by excellent time management abilities.
