About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Ambulance Specialist to join our team at the Richmond Ambulance Authority. As an EMT-Basic, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and transport services in a fast-paced emergency medical setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares vehicles and equipment for service, ensuring they are in optimal condition for patient transport.
  • Responds safely and efficiently to emergency calls, prioritizing patient care and well-being above all else.
  • Conducts thorough patient assessments, identifying potential health risks and taking necessary precautions to ensure safe transportation.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of patient information, treatment administered, and any notable incidents during transport.
  • Works collaboratively with dispatchers and other emergency responders to coordinate efficient response times and effective patient care.
Requirements
  • Current Commonwealth of Virginia EMT-Basic certification, along with CPR and other required certifications.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience as an EMT-B is highly desirable.
  • Valid Virginia vehicle operator's license, with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure, think critically, and make sound decisions in high-stress situations.
Compensation

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $22.00 per hour ($49,192 annually), with opportunities for overtime pay and bonuses based on performance.

In addition to competitive pay, our benefits package includes 42 hours of paid time off after 90 days, along with a comprehensive training program to support your ongoing professional development.
