We are seeking an experienced Nurse Extern to join our team at Johnston-Willis Hospital. As a Nurse Extern, you will work closely with our clinical team to provide high-quality patient care services.

Job Summary and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing and have the ability to create and implement a personal career development plan. A basic understanding of medical terminology and the ability to translate complex information to patients/families/caregivers is essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse.
  • Assist with patient mobility, including turning, positioning, and ambulating.
  • Educate patients/families/caregivers on healthy lifestyle choices and disease prevention.
  • Translate complex medical terminology to ensure understanding of patient medical condition, treatment plan, medications, and possible side effects.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing.
  • Able to create and implement a personal career development plan.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
