We are seeking a Software Architect (Consultant) to join our Tech Transaction Services (TTS) Practice, specializing in technology and software M&A due diligence initiatives. The architect will collaborate with other TTS consultants (such as Cloud and Cybersecurity experts) and key client stakeholders to conduct technology assessments and provide advisory services across various sectors, including Environmental Services, Technology, and Financial Services. As a technology-neutral organization, you will have the opportunity to broaden your expertise while utilizing state-of-the-art tools, platforms, and frameworks. This role presents an exciting chance to contribute to our established technology M&A practice and lead critical software environment evaluations, product due diligence, post-merger integrations, and advisory for carve-out transactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work alongside Transaction Services consultants from diverse specialties to support client M&A activities, addressing business challenges through comprehensive analysis of existing technology systems, software applications, team dynamics, and operational processes.
  • Evaluate the software and technology landscape within enterprise organizations, providing strategic recommendations to investors on enhancing market readiness, achieving scalability, and optimizing operational costs.
  • Examine contemporary software application and architecture stacks, delving into code-level details.
  • Assess software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, identifying risks and best practices in project management methodologies.
  • Develop strategic investment summaries, risk mitigation analyses, and long-term technology strategies for both pre- and post-transaction projects.
  • Connect business strategy with technology to deliver meaningful outcomes.
  • Stay informed about technology trends and their practical applications, guiding clients on innovative and disruptive technology solutions.
  • Assist in business development efforts by identifying unique opportunities and collaborating with client leads and account managers.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred, or equivalent experience is required.
  • Experience in consulting or industry roles is preferred.
  • 6-11+ years of experience in software development or architecture, ideally at the enterprise level, with knowledge in areas such as Microsoft .Net, Java with J2EE, JavaScript (React, Angular), or other common stacks like Python/Ruby/AWS.
  • Proficient in modern software design principles, including separation of concerns, microservices, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Familiarity with both contemporary and legacy software architectural patterns and their trade-offs.
  • Experienced in complex business systems integration, migrations, and custom object-oriented design and development.
  • Preference for knowledge of application security, secure coding practices, DevSecOps, and secure SDLC.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading technical engagements, including proposal development, estimation, and project management.
  • A strong sense of urgency and the ability to deliver solutions in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent critical thinking, leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Willingness to travel for client engagements as necessary.
