The architect will collaborate with other TTS professionals (Cloud, Cybersecurity, etc.) and key client stakeholders to drive technology assessments and advisory services across various sectors, including Environmental Services, Technology, Healthcare, and Financial Services. As a technology-neutral organization, you will have the opportunity to broaden your expertise while engaging with innovative tools, platforms, and frameworks. This role presents a unique chance to contribute to our established technology M&A practice and lead critical software environment evaluations, product due diligence, post-merger integrations, and advisory for carve-out transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside Transaction Services consultants from diverse disciplines (e.g., Cloud, Cybersecurity) to support client M&A efforts, addressing business challenges through the analysis of existing technology systems, software applications, team dynamics, and operational processes.
- Evaluate the underlying software and technology landscape within organizations to provide strategic recommendations to investors on enhancing market readiness, achieving scalability, and minimizing operational costs.
- Conduct in-depth analyses of contemporary software application architectures, examining layers down to the code level.
- Assess software development lifecycle (SDLC) processes, risks, and project management methodologies for best practices, security, and maturity levels.
- Develop strategic investment summaries, key risk mitigation strategies, and long-term technology-based plans for both pre- and post-acquisition projects.
- Establish connections between business strategies and technology to deliver impactful results.
- Stay informed about technology trends and their practical applications, helping clients understand innovative and disruptive technology solutions.
- Assist in business development with existing clients by identifying unique opportunities and coordinating with relevant client leads, account managers, or business developers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred, or equivalent experience required.
- Experience in consulting or industry preferred.
- 6-11+ years of experience in software development or architecture, ideally at the enterprise level, with expertise in technologies such as Microsoft .Net, Java with J2EE, JavaScript (React, Angular), or other common stacks like Python/Ruby/AWS.
- Proficient in modern software design principles, including separation of concerns, microservices, service-oriented architecture, and test-driven development.
- Familiarity with contemporary and legacy software architectural patterns and their respective trade-offs.
- Experienced in complex business systems integration, migrations, and custom object-oriented design and development.
- Knowledge of application security, secure coding practices, DevSecOps, and secure SDLC preferred.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical projects, including proposal development, estimation, and daily project management (time tracking, budgeting, status reporting).
- Strong sense of urgency and ability to deliver solutions in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Excellent critical thinking, leadership, communication, and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel for client engagements as necessary.
