Job Summary

This position oversees the daily operations of child welfare units, including intake, investigation, treatment, foster care, and permanency planning. The incumbent directs and evaluates the work of subordinate supervisors, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as Department and Division policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations of child welfare units, including intake, investigation, treatment, foster care, and permanency planning.
  • Direct and evaluate the work of subordinate supervisors, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as Department and Division policies.
  • Supervise staff, including planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating their work.
  • Ensure the provision of effective services based on the individual needs of children and adult caretakers, and ensure adherence to contact standards, division policy, court orders, state and federal laws.
  • Identify service delivery problems within daily operations and implement solutions based on best practices.
  • Participate in regional and statewide meetings, and serve on the division leadership team.
  • Approve funding requests for employee reimbursements or special payments to clients or service providers.
  • Oversee and supervise the implementation of new and revised program and/or service delivery procedures.
  • Collect data and prepare monthly statistical reports for division and department leadership regarding case activity and practice.
Requirements
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree or higher in Behavioral or Social Science or related field.
  • Three years' experience in health or human services work, including applying theories, principles, laws, and practices of health or human services programs and services.
  • Three years' experience in project management, including planning, developing, implementing, managing, and evaluating projects.
  • Three years' experience in providing, coordinating, and monitoring the delivery of professional social services to children, youth, and their families.
  • Three years' experience in ensuring compliance with laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Two years' experience in staff supervision, including planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others.
