Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sales Associate/Material Handler to join our team. As a Sales Associate/Material Handler, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized store environment, and assisting with the receipt, processing, and stocking of donations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet all customers and donors, provide prompt and courteous assistance, and ensure their needs are met.
  • Inventory Management: Sort and process donations according to Salvation Army standards, receive and unload incoming inventory items, and stock them accurately and efficiently.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the sales floor, stockroom, and breakroom, and perform cleaning duties as assigned.
  • Quality Assurance: Inspect products for defects and damages, and maintain and clean up the area in and around the donation trailer/pod.
  • Donation Processing: Separate and sort donated material into the proper containers, and properly stack material as instructed by the Store Manager.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors, and follow all POS/Cash Register policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.
  • Background Check: Must pass a background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position that requires flexibility to work any part-time shift, including evenings, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
