Job Title: Field Engineer II

Young s Communications LLC is seeking a highly skilled Field Engineer II to join our team. As a Field Engineer II, you will be responsible for analyzing real-world conditions, enhancing efficiency, and customer service in the field.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field and site visits to collect data and measurements for OSP designs.
  • Read and interpret client records and drawings to ensure accurate project information.
  • Collect pertinent information for permits and easements, and perform inspections during and after construction.
  • Work safely and independently, conducting research to diagnose and develop solutions.
  • Maintain equipment and infrastructure, and install new technology.
  • Generate reports and maintain records of fiber splicing and topography.
  • Improve efficiency and safety, and perform construction and maintenance of OSP infrastructure according to industry standards.
  • Maintain safety and security of OSP facilities, and monitor and control expenses within allotted budgets.
  • Communicate project assignments within defined scope and timelines.
  • Perform route analysis and develop aerial and underground fiber route maps, and handle fiber verification and mapping activities.
  • Use GIS and other software to develop engineering designs, and perform routine inspections of OSP networks.
  • Get state and local permits as required to execute OSP projects, and assist with OSP designs as needed.
Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license.
  • High school education or equivalent, degree in Engineering preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in FTTX/Fiber Network field work.
  • Aptitude for acquiring and retaining technical knowledge.
  • Computer skills necessary, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective time management and organization, excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of technical aspects, machinery, and technology.
  • Critical and analytical thinking skills, self-motivated with a strong work ethic and integrity.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and ability to travel.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled environment, work in inclement weather, stand, and drive for extended periods of time.
  • Physical strength, balance, hand-eye coordination, and stamina necessary to complete jobs in various areas.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable and sustained use of arms, legs, and moving your entire body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, sitting, standing, and handling materials up to 75lbs.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
