As a Field Engineer with American Engineering Testing Inc, you will provide critical support to the Construction Services Division by assisting engineers and technicians with various tasks and projects. This role involves conducting field testing, performing laboratory testing, and providing technical expertise to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct geotechnical field testing and laboratory testing according to QA procedures.
- Perform special inspection services, materials testing, or environmental services as needed.
- Assist in training less experienced personnel in routine field work and documentation.
- Prepare reports of field and laboratory work, including detailed site visit reports.
- Communicate with clients to determine their project needs and ensure timely completion.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or related Engineering field.
- 0-3 years of experience in an engineering or science-related field.
- Internship or previous work experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of fundamental engineering or scientific principles within the specialty area.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) and ability to achieve professional registration (PE).
- Experience using personal computer software, especially Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work at environmental remediation, industrial, and construction sites, and perform field work including collecting samples, operating field instruments, and documenting field activities.
This role primarily operates in a field environment with outdoor conditions, on construction sites with uneven ground and adverse weather conditions. The role also involves working in an office environment and using standard office equipment.
Physical DemandsThe physical demands of this role include standing, walking, using hands or fingers, and reaching with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. The employee will occasionally push or pull equipment weighing up to 200 pounds.
