About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Program Manager to join our Engineering team at DoorDash. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving important engineering-wide initiatives related to convenience and grocery, and empowering local economies by helping merchants open, grow, and operate more profitably.

You will partner closely with Dasher & Logistics, Marketplace, Merchant, and New Verticals engineering organizations to establish the vision, strategy, technical direction, and success metrics for our engineering teams. Your focus areas will include evangelizing platform visions, executing strategic projects to enable multi-vertical scale, and adoption by product engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own Platform Programs: You will develop a deep understanding of our technical stack and interdependencies, allowing you to contribute to designs and ensure they are scalable, reliable, and efficient.
  • Plan & Execute Optimizations: You will drive optimizations related to planning Engineering objectives and key results, develop frameworks for team execution/tracking, and provide visibility to resource allocation and prioritization.
  • Demonstrate Technical Depth: You will manage all stakeholder expectations from leadership to individual teams, possess strong problem-solving and negotiation skills, and earn the trust of partners and teams.
  • Navigate a Complex Organization: You will build trust by developing strong technical domain knowledge that adds value beyond project management.
  • Manage Process & Timelines: You will manage timely and succinct communications to leadership and across teams to ensure accountability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree with experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related discipline.
  • 5+ years recent experience as a Technical Program Manager at a technology company.
  • Experience in large-scale distributed systems and system architecture.
  • Experience working with platform engineers and directly engaging on product development, with a thorough understanding of software development processes.
  • Project planning and execution skills that include reviewing technical design documents, estimating, and scheduling.
