Job Overview:
The Engineering Operations Leader at Ferry Machine Corporation plays a pivotal role in overseeing the engineering division, ensuring the seamless execution of manufacturing processes throughout the organization.

This position requires a deep understanding of materials and engineering principles to design, integrate, and enhance manufacturing systems and related workflows.


Key Responsibilities:
• Directs the engineering team in the formulation, assessment, and optimization of manufacturing methodologies.

• Identifies potential operational failures, assesses efficiency and quality issues, and implements corrective and preventive measures to eliminate obstacles.

• Utilizes advanced technology to articulate design intentions and engineering specifications, enabling engineers and manufacturers to effectively manage variations in production processes.

• Develops job methodologies leveraging engineering acumen.
• Produces detailed schematics for fixtures and tooling.
• Assigns engineers to execute enhancements.
• Provides training for operators when new processes are introduced.
• Ensures adherence to health and safety regulations, including environmental and occupational safety standards.

• Conducts evaluations and gathers feedback from operators to refine production techniques when new fixtures or tools are deployed.

• Assists in the upkeep of fixtures, tooling, and related equipment.
• Proposes and enacts cost-saving initiatives.
• Designs and maintains the production floor layout to boost operational efficiency.
• Creates work instructions related to manufacturing processes.
• Addresses engineering requests from customers or suppliers as necessary.
• Completes quality system obligations pertinent to specific job functions.
• Undertakes additional duties as assigned by management.

Additional Responsibilities:
• Directly supervises a team of up to 10 engineers within the department.
• Executes supervisory duties in alignment with organizational policies and legal requirements.

• Responsibilities encompass interviewing, training personnel; planning, assigning, and directing tasks; evaluating performance; recognizing and addressing employee concerns.


Qualifications:
• A minimum of 5-10 years of managerial experience in contract manufacturing within a metalworking environment.

• A degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology or a related field, or a minimum of ten years of relevant experience and training, or a combination of education and experience.

• Extensive knowledge of ISO9001 / ISO13485 Quality Management Systems, and FDA regulations.
• Familiarity with environmental and occupational safety standards.
• Experience with precision machining and assembly equipment, tooling, fixturing, and gauging.
• Proficient in PFMEA, CAPA, and GD&T methodologies.
• Competent in using Mastercam or similar software for CNC programming and modeling.

Required Computer Skills:

• Proficiency in E2 MRP Systems; Microsoft Office Suite; Project Management Software; Ability to communicate effectively via email.
