Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Elementary Education Specialist to join our team at the Alabama Department of Education. As an Elementary Education Specialist, you will be responsible for providing educational support and services to students in elementary grades.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning
    • Develop and implement effective educational programs for elementary students, aligned with state and national standards.
    • Use a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and promote academic achievement.
    • Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Student Support
    • Provide individualized support to students who require additional academic or social-emotional assistance.
    • Collaborate with teachers and other educators to develop and implement student support plans.
    • Communicate with parents and guardians to keep them informed of student progress and needs.
  • Professional Development
    • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current on best practices in elementary education.
    • Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to improve instructional practices.
    • Contribute to the development of educational resources and materials for elementary students.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree or higher in Elementary Education or a related field.
  • Experience
    • At least 2 years of experience in elementary education, preferably in a public school setting.
  • Skills
    • Strong knowledge of elementary education principles and practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and parents.
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, and the selected candidate will be required to work a standard school day schedule. The position may require occasional evening or weekend work, as needed.
