Patient Care Assistant

About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Patient Care Assistant in the PCA Float Pool, working 32 hour shifts, days. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and timely communication to the Registered Nurse regarding patient observations and changes.
- Participate in maintaining a safe environment and utilize interventions to de-escalate patients, if necessary.
- Assist patients with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, ambulation, meals, and nourishment.
- Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques and body mechanics.
- Maintain patient safety by performing patient safety checks and utilizing fall prevention alternative devices/strategies as directed.
Requirements:
- Minimum of a high school education or GED.
- Current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification.
- Strong interpersonal skills to gather information, build relationships, and provide exceptional service to patients.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English in a clear and concise manner.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Demonstrated clinical experience in a similar setting.
- Prior inpatient or outpatient care experience or clinical care training.
- Medical Terminology and computer skills.
Work Schedule:
7:00-3:30pm, working every other weekend and every other holiday.
