Job Summary

FXI is seeking a highly skilled 2nd Shift Shipping Lead to oversee the accuracy of internal and domestic shipments. The successful candidate will ensure shipments meet customer requirements while maintaining a safe work environment. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills to direct a team of associates and administer responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Ensure timely and budget-friendly shipments
  2. Monitor and oversee outgoing and incoming shipments, verifying items are correct and in good condition
  3. Responsible for inspecting every aspect of the loading/unloading operation, meeting shipping specifications, and utilizing warehouse space efficiently
  4. Review all shipping documentation to ensure correct shipping methods are used
  5. Conduct regular inventory reconciliations
  6. Responsible for billing activities
  7. Follow all applicable safety and housekeeping guidelines
  8. Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures to meet Quality Systems Regulation (QSR) standards
  9. Responsible for departmental safety, quality, productivity, and efficiency
  10. May be responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of equipment
  11. Maintain employee time and production records
  12. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws
  13. Enforce safety and work policies
  14. Responsible for selection, training, assignment, discipline, review, and appraisal of employees
  15. May work on special projects/assignments upon request
  16. Must be flexible to work hours and/or shifts


Requirements

Requires a minimum of High School diploma or GED. Associate degree preferred or Minimum 2 yrs. experience in a shipping warehouse environment. 3 to 5 years' experience in a supervisory capacity. Requires effective interpersonal skills and behaviors conducive to a team-oriented environment. Requires proficiency in the use of PC's and applications related to the position. Requires the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to read and comprehend (in English) simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Documents may include: Bill of ladings, sales orders, deliveries, freight bills, Safety Data Sheets, SOP's, work instructions, manuals, policies and procedures, etc. Must have good verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to perform simple math equations figuring board footage of foam and cube footage of trailers.

Technical Skills

Must have proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office). Must be able to multitask.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to solve problems in a practical manner.
