In this role, you will facilitate the management of incoming and outgoing materials, supplies, and products. You will be responsible for receiving shipments, verifying contents against shipping records, and inspecting their condition. Additionally, you will gather, verify, and package items for dispatch according to specified requirements and chosen transportation methods. Accurate documentation of received and shipped items will be essential, adhering to established protocols. You will operate with a degree of autonomy in routine situations and may mentor and assist junior staff. The role will require analytical skills to address non-routine challenges.

Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating shipping and receiving processes for both domestic and international orders, collaborating closely with Trade Compliance and Customs Brokers to ensure timely export shipments.
  • Preparing shipping documentation for domestic and export purposes, including proper labeling of cartons and containers in line with site and customer specifications.
  • Managing hazardous material shipments in compliance with DOT and IATA (Air), IMDG (Ocean) regulations, while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of international shipping laws.
  • Strategizing shipping and loading plans to optimize container and trucking utilization while minimizing costs.
  • Securing necessary USDS packaging certifications and EU Wood regulations certificates.
  • Ensuring all shipments comply with Westinghouse's export compliance guidelines.
  • Obtaining export licenses for international shipments.
  • Resolving Customs issues or other challenges that may arise during shipping or at ports.
  • Collaborating with supply chain management and plant maintenance teams regarding inbound and outbound inventory of equipment and parts.
  • Overseeing the receiving process of incoming materials within SAP and Ariba systems, addressing any discrepancies that may occur.
  • Executing Goods Issues from SAP MRO Storerooms, managing stock parts, conducting cycle counts, and ensuring audit compliance according to WEC procedures.
  • Updating SRS Procedures as necessary.

To excel in this position, you will need:

  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent; further education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Transportation, or Business Administration is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in supply chain management or logistics within a manufacturing context is advantageous.
  • Hazmat certification, along with knowledge of 49 CFR, IATA (Air), and IMDG (Ocean) regulations is preferred, with a requirement to obtain within the first six months.
  • Strong ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, demonstrating exceptional organizational skills and time management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and ISO standards applicable to logistics.
  • Advanced computer proficiency, particularly in SAP, Excel, Word, and other relevant applications.
