About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cell Reliability Engineer to join our Fleet Analytics team at Tesla. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing strategies to ensure the reliability and performance of our battery cells.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage cell lifetime and address critical design risks through lab testing and fleet insights
  • Leverage lab test results to predict cell reliability in the field and inform decision-making
  • Create models using lab and fleet data to evaluate lithium-ion battery performance over life for new and existing cells
  • Develop standard and accelerated test protocols based on expected field scenarios and identify unique failure modes of new cell designs
  • Collaborate on failure analysis to understand root causes and drive mitigation actions
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science/Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electric Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of lithium-ion cell chemistry and degradation mechanisms
  • Strong programming skills and experience in Python
  • Experience with statistical analysis preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Expected compensation for this role is $104,000 - $156,000 per year, plus cash and stock awards, and benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on individual factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
