About the Role

DataStaff, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead a large-scale IT project in support of the Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services (DCLS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Oversight: Oversee the implementation of the clinical and environment laboratory information management system(s) (LIMS), ensuring timely delivery, within scope, and within budget.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate closely with stakeholders across different departments to gather requirements, create and maintain documentation, provide input for RFPs, plan project timelines, allocate resources, and monitor progress.
  • Team Management: Clearly define roles and responsibilities, drive constructive and productive participation by all involved.
  • Task Management: Aggressively manage project tasks to ensure work progresses according to schedule.
  • Requirements Gathering: Collect requirements from a broad set of users and combine them into a comprehensive statement of requirements.
  • Documentation: Prepare documentation, obtain approval, and track all changes in project scope.
  • Communication: Communicate project changes and events to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Goal Setting: Set project goals and develop plans to meet those goals.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
  • Project Coordination: Manage multiple associated projects throughout the project lifetime to ensure success as defined by adherence to scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Progress Reporting: Conduct regular project meetings and ensure comprehensive documentation of project progress and outcomes.
  • Status Updates: Provide timely status reports to reflect project status, issues, and risks.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify risks and impacts, and collaborate with customer and project team to address concerns.
  • Compliance: The position consults with the project team on all aspects of project management and ensures compliance with project management policies, standards, and guidelines.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10 years of proven work experience as an IT Project Manager.
  • Methodologies: Significant experience in agile project management methodologies and waterfall methodologies.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • RFP Experience: 5 years of experience in RFP process is required.
  • Tool Experience: 7 years of experience in Planview Enterprise 1 or similar Portfolio and Project Management tools is required.
  • Agile Tool Experience: 7 years of experience in Azure DevOps or any Agile Project Management tools is required.
  • Certification: Certified Project Manager by PMI or VITA PM certification is required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in Laboratory Information Management System is highly desired.
  • Government Experience: 5 years of experience working as a Project Manager in a Commonwealth of Virginia Executive Branch Agency(ies)
