Job Title: Service Meat Clerk

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Service Meat Clerk to join our team at Hy-Vee. As a Service Meat Clerk, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a clean and organized work environment, and ensuring that our meat and seafood products are of the highest quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Provide prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with purchases.
  • Meat and Seafood Preparation: Wrap, trim, and label meat and seafood products, and prepare them for display.
  • Inventory Management: Receive and stock merchandise, and maintain accurate inventory levels.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Maintain a clean and safe work environment, and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Six months or less of similar or related work experience.
  • Skills: Ability to lift up to 85 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:

This position is continually exposed to a cool environment and dampness. There is frequent noise from the saws, exposure to cleaning solvents, and possibility of electrical shock. This is a fast-paced work environment.

Equipment Used:

  • Knives, Grinders, Patty Maker, Tenderizer, Slicer, Pallet jack, Tumbler, Wrapping system, and Rotisserie.

Contacts:

Deals with customers on a daily basis and vendors/suppliers on an as needed basis.
