Position Overview

Alys Beach is in search of a skilled Chef de Partie. This role is situated at the Beach Club within the Alys Beach Community, Florida. The Beach Club restaurant offers a distinctive dining experience characterized by teamwork and collaboration. The Chef de Partie plays a vital role within the culinary brigade. Candidates should possess high energy, a positive demeanor, and a genuine passion for hospitality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate effective communication within the culinary division and restaurant staff.
  • Comprehend ordering processes and maintain proper food storage and rotation.
  • Ensure food quality during preparation.
  • Utilize kitchen equipment, including blenders, food processors, ranges, grills, fryers, and ovens.
  • Conduct taste tests to ensure proper seasoning.
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and managing food storage and rotation.
  • Follow recipes and adhere to quality and presentation standards.
  • Prepare special meals and alternative items as needed.
  • Support safe food handling practices.
  • Train and mentor new team members.
  • Serve food in appropriate portions and presentation.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, including tables, tools, and kitchen equipment.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests and team members in accordance with company standards.
  • Anticipate the needs of homeowners and guests.
  • Actively report maintenance issues, accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management.
Job Requirements
  • At least two years of experience as a cook in a similar club or hotel setting.
  • Professional communication skills with guests, owners, and fellow associates.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and/or walk for extended periods.
  • Capability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Tolerance for exposure to smoke, steam, loud noises, and wet conditions.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including heat and cold, often with extended sun exposure.
Essential Functions
  • Ability to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.
  • Capability to reach, bend, squat, and transport up to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 35 pounds regularly.
  • Tolerance for exposure to smoke, steam, high temperatures, and humidity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to engage with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Organizational skills to maintain order in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in reading, speaking, and writing in English.
  • Basic math skills and strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ServSafe manager certification.
  • Degree in a Hospitality Program is advantageous.
  • Experience in a club setting.
  • Knowledge of Beach Cuisine.
  • Experience with outdoor catering events.
