Role Summary: Wine Service Specialist

  • Delivering exceptional wine service while effectively selling and serving wines, pairings, and beverages to our esteemed guests.
  • Partnering with the Executive Team to curate, maintain, and innovate the existing wine selection.
  • Managing the procurement and inventory of all wines and spirits within the establishment.
  • Offering attentive and engaging service to our members.
  • Planning and executing wine-related events, including exclusive dinners, tastings, and social gatherings.
  • Exhibiting leadership by managing the floor, prioritizing tasks, addressing unforeseen challenges, and guiding the team.
  • Collaborating with the culinary team to create harmonious wine pairings that enhance the dining experience.
  • Demonstrating a genuine enthusiasm for gastronomy, wines, and hospitality.
  • Working alongside the Training Supervisor to establish a continuous education program for staff regarding wines and spirits.
  • Ensuring the organization and upkeep of the wine cellar and storage areas.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and relevant POS systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with effective time management capabilities.
  • Able to perform under pressure.
  • Sound judgment in identifying potentially intoxicated members.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Preferred certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers or Advanced WSET Level 3.
  • Prior experience in fine dining as a Sommelier is advantageous.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of classic wine regions and their production techniques.
  • In-depth understanding of varietal characteristics.
  • Preferred certification in an alcohol awareness program.
  • CPR certification is recommended.
  • Experience in a supervisory role is beneficial.
