Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fire Inspector to join our team at the University of Minnesota. As a Fire Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our campus community by conducting thorough inspections of buildings and facilities to identify potential fire hazards and ensuring compliance with fire codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular fire inspections of buildings and facilities to identify potential fire hazards and ensure compliance with fire codes and regulations.
  • Investigate fires and other incidents to determine their cause and make recommendations for prevention.
  • Develop and implement fire safety plans and procedures to ensure the safety of campus community.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure fire safety is integrated into all aspects of campus operations.
  • Provide training and education to campus community on fire safety and prevention.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in fire science, fire protection engineering, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in fire inspection, fire investigation, or fire protection.
  • Proven experience in fire code enforcement and compliance.
  • Strong knowledge of fire codes and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
