Position Objective: The Electromechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems. This role requires independent judgment and adherence to safety protocols while addressing specific work situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct repairs on equipment according to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and technical knowledge. Troubleshoot components including motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, PLCs, drives, sensors, and cylinders using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
  2. Inspect equipment for proper functionality and diagnose issues based on unusual sounds and movements.
  3. Rebuild components such as cylinders, rollers, and electrical parts as necessary.
  4. Evaluate used parts for dimensional changes using rulers, calipers, and other measuring tools.
  5. Install safety mechanisms such as guards on functional or structural parts.
  6. Start, test, and lubricate equipment to optimize performance.
  7. Set up and operate machinery including drill presses, lathes, milling machines, and grinders for part fabrication or repair.
  8. Perform preventive maintenance on machines following standard operating procedures.
  9. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area and maintenance shop, adhering to 5-S standards.
  10. Complete work orders and associated paperwork using computer systems.
  11. Possess and maintain personal tools and toolbox.

Technical Requirements: Ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions, along with basic mathematical skills. Proficient in using common tools, measuring instruments, and reading electronic and mechanical gauges. Capable of resolving electrical and mechanical issues and troubleshooting PLC-related problems.

Knowledge and Experience: A minimum of four years of experience supporting skilled trades in mechanical and electrical fields, with at least four years equivalent to a Maintenance Mechanic. Completion of a recognized vocational training program in mechanical and electrical trades may substitute for one year of experience.

Education Requirement: High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Licenses or Certifications: At least four years of experience in building maintenance, including two of the following trades: electrical, plumbing, or HVAC; or an equivalent combination of education and certifications.

Special Skills: Proficient in the use and maintenance of tools relevant to carpentry and electrical trades, including voltage meters, drills, saws, and basic hand tools. Knowledgeable in mechanical operation and maintenance procedures for building equipment such as motors and pumps, necessary for performing preventative maintenance and repairs.
