Position Overview

As a Traveling Consulting Utility Forester, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of power across diverse landscapes. Your expertise in tree management and vegetation control will be instrumental in maintaining utility infrastructure and promoting sustainable practices within right-of-ways.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive tree inventories, hazard assessments, and inspections to identify potential risks to power lines.
  • Develop detailed work plans for tree contractors, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with property owners and public agencies to obtain necessary permits and approvals for vegetation management activities.
  • Utilize advanced technologies such as lidar inspections and GIS software to analyze data and inform decision-making.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to field crews, ensuring the efficient and effective execution of projects.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge of tree species identification, growth habits, and invasive plant management.
  • Ability to obtain ISA Arborist Certification within six months of hire.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data collection software (GIS experience preferred).
