Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service to all clients, ensuring all tasks are performed in compliance with established aviation and regulatory standards.
  • Diagnose and rectify issues with filters, pumps, valves, tanks, pressure regulators, metering and gauging instruments, as well as company vehicles and pipeline systems, including electrical apparatus, motors, switchgear, and lighting.
  • Address irregularities or alerts in the airport fuel distribution system and provide assistance to Fuel Systems Operators as required.
  • Guarantee that all assigned tasks are executed promptly and with high-quality craftsmanship.
  • Work independently with minimal oversight to complete assigned responsibilities.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inspections and evaluations as mandated by the Maintenance Department, adhering to ATA Specification 103 and local protocols.
  • Participate in special projects, professional development, and training sessions as directed by supervisors and management.
  • Effectively manage hazardous materials and waste, responding appropriately to emergency situations.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum age of 18 years.
  • Possession of a valid U.S. driver's license is required.
  • Must maintain a complete set of necessary hand tools for maintenance tasks.
  • Successful completion of all pre-employment assessments, including physical, color vision, auditory tests, and drug screening.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Strong communication skills and problem-solving capabilities are essential.
  • Ability to lift and transport valves weighing up to 70 lbs and perform continuous physical activity, including bending, kneeling, lifting, and shoulder movements.
  • Comfortable working at heights and capable of performing tasks on elevated storage tanks.
  • Basic math skills are required.
  • Pass a background check and obtain necessary security clearances as mandated.
  • Flexible availability for variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Adhere to airport, FAA, and U.S. Customs safety, security, and identification protocols, passing thorough security background checks.
  • Work primarily outdoors; must be adaptable to various weather conditions.
  • Possess a working knowledge of fuel systems to effectively troubleshoot and complete assigned work orders safely and efficiently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting/repair.
  • Familiarity with industrial process controls, communication, and automation, particularly within the petroleum sector.

Working Conditions

Exposure to outdoor environments with varying weather conditions, aviation-related fumes, and diverse noise levels. A strong focus on safety procedures is essential. The position requires the use of safety equipment, including goggles, gloves, boots, respirators, hearing protection, and back support as needed. Responsibilities include lifting, pulling, pushing, rotating, twisting, climbing on high tanks, squatting, kneeling, and overhead arm movements. Regular handling of weights up to 70 lbs is required. Employees may be exposed to cleaning and chemical materials during routine and special assignments. This role may also involve working in confined spaces.

The employee will conduct periodic maintenance and inspections on valves, hydrant pits, pressure controls, metering and gauging equipment, and company vehicles. It is imperative that all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard, ensuring that operations run smoothly while maintaining a professional image for Menzies Aviation.

Physical Requirements

This position involves numerous routine tasks that must be performed accurately to prevent fuel spills or related incidents. A strong work ethic is crucial due to the nature of the responsibilities.

While fulfilling the duties of this role, the employee will frequently stand, walk, sit, use hands to manipulate tools or controls, reach with arms, climb or balance, and communicate verbally. Additional tasks may include digging, shoveling, and managing hazardous materials or waste. Employees may also be involved in debris removal, which requires lifting, bending, and stooping. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 lbs.
