About the RoleThis is an administrative professional position that requires a unique blend of nursing skills and educational expertise. As a Healthcare Advocate, you will be responsible for providing direct care to students, assessing their needs, and developing individualized healthcare plans.
You will work closely with parents, teachers, and other school staff to ensure that students receive the best possible care. This includes communicating with parents regarding student health issues, securing emergency medical care when needed, and advocating for students' rights and interests.
Responsibilities- Provide direct care to students using professional assessment skills and established school health protocols.
- Assess student problems and communicate with parents regarding individual students.
- Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) and evaluate outcomes of skilled and direct nursing care and procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between school personnel, the family, healthcare professionals, and the community.
- Ensure that medications are administered to students according to district policy and procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice nursing in the State of Texas
- Valid CPR certification within the past 2 years
- Valid Vision, Hearing, Acanthosis Nigricans and Spinal Screening certification within the last 5 years
- At least 3 years' experience in nursing
- Duty Days: 187
- Pay Grade: Admin Professional 3
- Estimated Annual Salary: $60,000 - $80,000
