The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for collaborating with site leadership to formulate strategies and corresponding action plans that align with business goals. This role entails providing expert guidance to support and execute Human Resources policies, programs, and practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promotes, communicates, and reinforces the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
  • Collaborates with management to support site, departmental, and corporate objectives.
  • Engages in the assessment of suitable staffing levels based on operational demands.
  • Facilitates employee training and development initiatives in partnership with the Training department.
  • Assists management in addressing employee relations issues, including investigating sensitive and complex situations and facilitating early conflict resolution.
  • Escalates HR-related concerns to the appropriate management personnel as necessary.
  • Compiles and prepares data for EEO and Affirmative Action reporting and planning requirements.
  • Maintains and reports on metrics related to headcount, turnover rates, recruitment statistics, and trends on a monthly basis or as needed.
  • Leads specific HR-related projects as assigned, conducting research, coordinating efforts, and making recommendations for future actions.
  • Participates in annual benefits renewals and open enrollment processes in alignment with corporate directives.
  • Adheres to all quality and safety standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with demonstrated expertise in standard business software applications.
  • Ability to utilize HRIS-related software; experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred.
  • Proven ability to identify trends and collaborate with business partners to resolve issues efficiently and thoroughly.
  • Capable of working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, as operations run 24/7/365.
Education and Experience:
  • Associate degree in human resources or business administration; a bachelor's degree is preferred, and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5+ years of experience in employee relations within skilled trade environments as a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) or HR Generalist is preferred.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification is desired.
  • Experience in government contracting environments and/or with Collective Bargaining Agreements and Service Contract Act (SCA) is highly desirable.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  • Must possess a valid state driver's license.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. and ability to travel within the Continental United States (CONUS) is required.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test, motor vehicle record check, and background check after accepting a conditional offer of employment.
