A DAY IN YOUR ROLE:

As a Lead Technical Product Strategist II on the Pump and Mobile team, you will spearhead cross-functional teams in the design, development, and rollout of enhancements to our pump firmware and mobile applications. Your focus will be on ensuring that the solutions we deliver align with our strategic product vision and fulfill our user and business requirements.
  • Direct and guide multiple intricate projects, transitioning them from broad planning to precise execution.
  • Establish a strong partnership with Product Management to fully grasp their objectives and act as their main technical collaborator.
  • Oversee the creation of high-level estimates, breaking down significant initiatives into manageable projects, and collaborating with Engineering, QA, and Project Management to outline potential timelines.
  • Define the roadmap for forthcoming pump firmware and mobile app releases, ensuring alignment with Tandem's business objectives.
  • Work closely with Engineering and Scrum Masters to organize sprints, ensuring synchronization with the release schedule and overarching business goals.
  • Collaborate with UX Design to develop intuitive user experiences that meet both user and business needs.
  • Proactively manage the planning and execution of new features for pump firmware and mobile applications in conjunction with the feature team.
  • Align feature plans with various stakeholders, including Product Management, Quality, and senior leadership.
  • Maintain the backlog in Jira, ensuring tasks are organized, communicated clearly, and prioritized effectively.
  • Participate in all scrum ceremonies, acting as the Agile Product Owner.
  • Serve as the primary contact for initiatives and features under your responsibility, providing timely responses to inquiries and ensuring clear communication for the working team.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Tandem's hardware and mobile products, as well as the broader product portfolio, equipping yourself to make informed decisions regarding mobile products.
YOUR SKILLS:
  • Expertise in translating high-level concepts into detailed firmware and mobile app solutions.
  • Strong analytical skills to address software engineering challenges.
  • Proficient in conceptualizing user experiences, sketching ideas, and evaluating designs.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8 years of experience in a related position (Product Manager, Product Owner, Founder, Software Engineer, etc.) defining product solutions for consumer-facing software.
  • 2 years of experience with hardware/firmware products.
  • 4 years of experience in mobile applications.
  • 4 years of experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • 3 years of experience in an Agile/scrum environment.
  • Experience in software engineering, either as a developer or through educational background.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:

The starting base pay range for this position is $146,000 - $170,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and may also fluctuate depending on the candidate's location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Tandem provides healthcare benefits such as medical, dental, vision, health savings accounts, and flexible spending accounts. Employees will also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (starting in year 1), and access to a 401k plan with company match.
