Job Summary

The Bristol Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor of Pupil Personnel Services to lead our special education programs. As a key member of our administrative team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective educational programs for students with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage budgets for special education programs
  • Evaluate and improve special education curriculum and procedures
  • Supervise and coordinate special education classroom programs
  • Compile and maintain reports and records
  • Interpret special education programs to staff and the public
  • Implement procedures for referral, evaluation, placement, and re-appraisal of students
  • Consult with parents and provide programs to supplement regular classroom instruction
  • Arrange special education transportation and implement purchasing procedures
  • Participate in district-wide activities and committees
  • Supervise attendance reports and fiscal matters
  • Stay informed of legal requirements governing special education
  • Assist with teacher in-service and training
  • Adapt school policies to include special education needs
  • Attend special events and school-sponsored activities
  • Schedule staff assignments and supervise home instruction
  • Establish and maintain standards of student conduct
  • Cooperate with college and university officials
Qualifications
  • Master's degree and/or Sixth Year Certificate
  • Minimum of five years teaching experience
  • Intermediate Administrative Certification and Special Education or Pupil Personnel Certification
Work Environment

The work environment is typically quiet, but may become moderate to loud in a school setting.
