Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families.
- Clinical Support: Prepare patients for provider(s); anticipate needs of provider(s) to maintain efficient patient flow.
- Administrative Support: Assist with prior authorization, patient education, and maintaining accurate patient records.
- Phlebotomy and Laboratory Procedures: Perform phlebotomy and laboratory procedures as directed by provider(s).
- Medical Terminology: Possess critical working knowledge of current Evidence Based Practices and supports recovery based lifestyles and patient outcomes.
- Education: Completion of an accredited AAMP program and a Certified Washington State Department of Health license in Medical Assisting.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a community health or hospital setting.
- Skills: Excellent customer service, oral and written communications skills, and ability to work well in a team setting.
Medical Assistants are required to stand, sit, and be mobile one-third to two-thirds of the time. They are required to use hands to finger, handle or feel over two-thirds of the time, as well as reach with hands and arms. Climbing or balancing occurs less than one-third of the time; while stooping, kneeling or crouching occurs between one-third and two-thirds of the day.
