Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at Saint Alphonsus Health System. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and families in a warm and welcoming manner
  • Register patients for appointments and complete necessary paperwork
  • Verify and update patient and insurance information
  • Notify providers of patient arrivals and delays
  • Collect and communicate patient balances and responsible payments
  • Maintain knowledge of different payer practices and deductibles
  • Assist patients with financial assistance paperwork
  • Control credit extended to patients via payment plans
  • Maintain a neat and organized work area, including the reception area

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous customer service experience required; healthcare experience preferred
  • Electronic health record (EHR) experience a plus
  • Medical terminology preferred
  • Experience with process improvement or lean philosophy preferred
