Job Title: Aerospace Mechanic, Sheet Metal Specialist - Level III

Aerospace Mechanic, Sheet Metal Specialist - Level III is responsible for maintaining, modifying, and integrating components into major assemblies. This role involves activities such as assembly, installation, and repairing of sheet metal, composite, and other products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain, modify, and install various components of aircraft sheet metal and composite.
  • Rework, install, and fabricate complex aircraft structural assemblies.
  • Use precision measuring devices, such as micrometers, ball gauges, dial calipers, scales, and other calibrated devices.
  • Perform checks, carry out inspections, and installation of components.
  • Maintain documented records of work accomplished.
  • Work from and to MES planning, engineering drawings, blueprints, manufacturing specifications, and procedures.
  • Adhere to quality procedures and instructions, both written and verbal.
  • Notify supervision of all malfunctions, defects, and damages of material, equipment, and/or product.
  • Keep all areas clean, neat, and orderly.
  • Perform visual and functional inspections of operations to ensure product meets all requirements and specifications.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of withholding tags, with ability to perform with supervision.
  • Basic knowledge of precision drilling, installation of rivets, and fasteners.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety programs.
  • May be required to perform other related job duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or Accredited GED.
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently required to perform the job.
  • 5+ years of experience as a sheet metal mechanic in manufacturing.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of non-conformance tags, with ability to perform repairs with supervision.
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently required to perform the job.
  • Physical Requirements: lifting, climbing, grasping, holding, standing, bending, stooping, and ability to work overhead.
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a United States Person as defined by 22 C.F.R. § is required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Must be able to communicate verbally and have the ability to hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds. Have full range of motion required to perform the job functions. Maintain steady hand-eye coordination. Reach in all directions and in potentially awkward positions.
