Job Description
Senior Sheet Metal Mechanic - Level IV (External candidates ONLY)
The Senior Sheet Metal Mechanic is tasked with the maintenance, modification, and integration of components into major assemblies. This role involves mentoring and guiding fellow mechanics in achieving quality standards and best practices. Key activities include the assembly, installation, and repair of sheet metal and composite products. A deep understanding of departmental KPIs is essential, along with the knowledge required to achieve and sustain them.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain, modify, and install various components of aircraft sheet metal and composite structures.
- Fabricate and install complex aircraft structural assemblies.
- Perform rework with minimal supervision and train others in rework techniques.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers and calipers, and train others in their use.
- Document work completed accurately.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and manufacturing specifications, and provide training to others.
- Follow quality procedures and instructions diligently.
- Report any malfunctions or defects in materials or equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, and train others in 6S practices.
- Conduct visual and functional inspections to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Support the development of colleagues through coaching and mentoring.
- Ensure the final quality acceptance of all installations and configurations.
- Perform mechanical tasks such as precision drilling and installation of fasteners.
- Adhere to all company policies and safety protocols.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- May be required to assign tasks and oversee their completion.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to change and improvement.

- High School Diploma or Accredited GED.
- Proficient in reading and speaking English to perform job duties effectively.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in aircraft sheet metal structural assembly or a combination of structural assembly and MRO Repair experience.
- Ability to utilize MES / MEDS systems and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Meet all physical requirements for the role.
- Physical demands include lifting, climbing, and working overhead.
- This position requires compliance with Export Control regulations, necessitating a United States Person status.
