Job Summary

The Children's Home of Pittsburgh is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Full-Time Educational Assistant to join our team at Child's Way, our daycare center for medically fragile children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to teachers and caregivers in creating a safe and nurturing environment for children
  • Assist with daily activities, such as feeding, bathing, and dressing children
  • Help with educational and recreational programs, including arts and crafts, music, and outdoor play
  • Communicate effectively with children, families, and staff to ensure seamless care and support
  • Participate in training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 8th grade education with training or experience working with children preferred
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and maintain a calm demeanor in stressful situations
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
  • Background checks and clearances required, including FBI, PA State, Child Abuse, and National Sex Offender Registry
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two or more years of experience working with children in a childcare setting
  • Prior experience working with children with special needs or medical conditions
