Job Summary

Bright Light Academy is seeking a dedicated and experienced Early Learning Support Specialist to join our team of educators. As an Early Learning Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in creating a safe and stimulating learning environment for our one-year-old students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Colleagues: Work closely with other toddler teachers to plan and implement daily lesson plans and activities that promote early learning and development.
  • Classroom Environment: Help create a safe and engaging classroom environment that fosters curiosity and exploration in our one-year-old students.
  • Child Support: Provide individual and group support to children as needed, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  • Parent Communication: Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and progress, keeping them informed and involved in their child's education.
  • Assessments and Conferences: Complete child assessments and participate in parent-teacher conferences to ensure the best possible outcomes for our students.
Requirements
  • Experience: Two or more years of experience working with young children, preferably in a toddler setting.
  • Qualifications: Must qualify as an Assistant Group Supervisor or Group Supervisor with the Department of Human Services.
  • Background Checks: Pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
  • Age and Work Authorization: Be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Physical Demands: Be able to lift up to 40 pounds, see, hear, and sit on the floor with children.
  • Personal Qualities: Be patient, nurturing, and able to create a positive learning environment.
  • Certification: A Child Development Associate's Certification is a plus.
Benefits
  • Full-Time Position: This is a full-time, year-round position with a competitive hourly rate.
  • Pay and Benefits: Pay range starts at $16.50 up to $17.50 per hour, with a pay increase based on performance and education at the end of a 90-day probation period. Full-time staff also receive paid holidays, PTO, sick time, dental or vision insurance, reduced child care, and more.
  • Work Schedule: Full-time staff work a four-day work week.
