JOB SUMMARY: The Culinary Operations Manager plays a crucial role in assisting the Director of Dining with the planning, coordination, and execution of a high-quality dining program for residents, staff, and guests. This position oversees the culinary aspects, HAACP program, and sanitation protocols within all food production and service areas.

ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS: Adhere to all relevant rules, policies, standards, and guidelines associated with employment at Westminster Communities.

  1. Oversee the complete operations of the kitchen(s).
  2. Manage the procurement of food, supplies, and equipment while adhering to budgetary constraints.
  3. Supervise meal preparation, presentation, and quality by ensuring precise adherence to recipes by culinary staff.
  4. Conduct food inventory and place orders as necessary.
  5. Ensure compliance with training, safety, and disciplinary standards.
  6. Monitor kitchen staff adherence to sanitation and food safety regulations.
  7. Oversee the proper functioning of kitchen equipment and report any malfunctions to the Director.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A 2-Year Accredited Culinary Degree or a College Degree in a related field is required, along with specialized certification from an accredited culinary institution and a minimum of 6 years of experience in a high-volume, hospitality-oriented environment.

Serv Safe certification is required or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.

Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, and familiarity with database menu systems for forecasting, menu creation, and recipe development is essential.
