Prestige Healthcare Resources, Inc. is a leading healthcare company dedicated to providing high-quality services to underserved populations. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Peer Recovery Specialist to join our team.

Job SummaryThe Certified Peer Recovery Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the SUD Clinical Manager to support individuals in recovery from substance use disorders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the recovery process and be able to share their personal experiences to help others achieve long-term recovery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist SUD Director(s) with Level 1 and Level 2.5 recovery treatment programs
  • Work in the SUD Program division and comply with all mandated services for providing treatment to behavioral health and SUD consumers
  • Participate in group facilitation and co-facilitation, complete daily progress encounter notes for groups, and ensure input of notes within 24 hours
  • Provide individual sessions daily to clients and ensure minimum of 38 hours of weekly billing (individual sessions)
  • Share personalized lived experience story in a 1:1 setting, as well as group setting to provide a model for both consumers in recovery and staff
  • Attend trainings, seminars, workshops, and webinars as it pertains to job development
  • Assist with recording keeping via EMS to appropriate files for consumers, including uploading information to ensure consumers treatment files are accurate/updated
  • Provide recovery education to service recipients for every phase of the recovery journey from pre-recovery engagement, recovery initiation, recovery stabilization, and sustained recovery maintenance
  • Check voicemails and emails on a daily and consistent manner and acknowledge and return within a 24-hour period
  • Communicate both orally and written to supervisor, staff, peers, and consumers
  • Proficiency in Electronic Medical Records, Microsoft Office Suite, and Credible EMR
  • Maintain integrity, professionalism, and code of ethics at all times and understand boundaries and cannot have dual/conflicting relationship with consumers
  • Receive HIPAA training and abide by HIPAA guidelines when conducting official and unofficial Prestige business
  • Assist clinicians with presentation of Orientation to new consumers and have personalized sessions with consumers not meeting target goals for on-going sobriety to stay on 12-week Living in Balance Treatment course
  • Assist with Discharge Planning (if needed) and transition of care for SUD consumers
  • Encourage and assist consumers in self-advocacy, including behavioral health and SUD services
  • Facilitate recovery plans from an institute-implemented plan to a self-implemented one
  • Participate in weekly Clinical Rounds to monitor client's progression in treatment and Company Level 10 meetings

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • One year of administrative experience
  • Complete Recovery and Wellness Action Planning (WRAP) and receive certification
  • Receive a minimum of 6 hours of direct supervision before working directly with consumers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree
  • Two years of related experience
  • Previous Peer Support Specialist experience and Certified in the District of Columbia
  • History of SUD and Mental Health personal recovery
  • Familiar with EMR (Credible)

Physical DemandsThis would require moderate physical activity.

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position. This position has to be re-certified yearly. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
